about

I wrote this song to promote a feeling of self worth and being happy in your own company. That people should be proud to be who they are, and not change to fit in with others. Its time people stopped trying to recreate an image for themselves that they've seen online or on TV, just be who you want to, do not care what people think.

lyrics

I wake up alone,
Never wondering where to go,
I step outside once more,
The sun is bearing down,
Slightest breeze of summers air,
I smile,
Walk on,
Alone,

The sun begins to fade,
To take the light out of this day,
I sit here and wait,
And just take it in,
For all the opportunities we miss,
Just make way for more to exist,
The sun begins to fade,
To take the light out of this day,

I walk along the shore,
I feel the sand between my toes,
Its warm,
Its home,
I hear,
The waves they lap the beach,
Cooling off this summers heat,
The smell the spray I'm home.

The sun begins to fade,
To take the light out of this day,
I sit here and wait,
And just take it in,
For all the opportunities we miss,
Just make way for more to exist,
The sun begins to fade,
To take the light out of this day.

I know I've been here a long time,
Stuck with what is obvious though still misleading,
Spoken words whilst barely hearing,
Well I may be here a long time,
Stuck with what's expected of rarely delivered,
What I've offered up should be considered.

Well I may be here a long time.
